More students can be expected in Delhi Univerisity once hostellers return
Delhi University has reopened its colleges and started physical classes on Thursday. However, hostellers did not show up so far. Teachers have expressed hope that attendance will increase in the coming week when hostellers return.
The colleges of Delhi University were closed for almost two years due to the Covid-19 outbreak. As the cases have now decreased, colleges have also resumed.

“The attendance in these two days was actually more than we expected, but I believe things will return to pre-Covid times soon,” said a professor at the Hindu College.
Authorities at Gargi College said outstation students have begun arriving and the numbers will rise from Monday onwards.

“I arrived in Delhi today so that I can settle myself over the weekend. I wasn’t prepared for this and was hoping that classes would start from March 1. But I didn’t want to miss out on my studies, so I rushed. I will be joining college from Monday,” Ritika Jain, a student of Keshav Mahavidyalaya, said.

“We are listening and are sensitised to the concerns raised by students on various social media platforms following the University of Delhi’s decision to reopen colleges.
We have been noticing and getting calls from students about their struggles and acknowledging all the concerns raised by them,” said Pankaj Arora, Dean, Students’ Welfare.
However, some student bodies held protests earlier this month, demanding the reopening of campuses.

As many as six new nursing colleges to be functional in Haryana soon
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.
Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.
CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS
The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.
COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.
The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
