City Level Science Fair begins at Regional Science City

City Level Science Fair (CLSF) commenced today at Regional Science City, Lucknow. Fair is organized for the school going students of Lucknow. About 35 projects which are individual and team categories will be participating in this fair.

The City Level Science Fair will be held during 17th to 19th December, 2015 at Regional Science City, Lucknow. The Science Fair will be inaugurated by Prof. A.S. Vidyarthi, Director, Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow on 17th December, 2015 at 11:30 AM.

CLSF aims at bringing the aspects of thinking, problem solving and researching attitudes in young minds. The student projects are excellent examples of ‘inquiry’ based learning which employs hands on approach to teaching science: students learn through research and experimentation, not just through lectures and books. It also tries to bring together young scientists from different schools of the city to compete, get prizes/awards, establish new collaborations for future research, exchange thoughts with students from other institutions and make new friends. The creativity is displayed in the form of interesting projects/ models.

The participation is in two categories namely Individual project (one student per project) and team project (maximum 2 students per project). The winner in each category will participate in the Northern Zonal Science Fair scheduled to be held at National Science Centre, New Delhi during 18-20 January, 2016.

The Fair will remain open for the visit of students and general public during 17th December from 11:30 AM to 19th December upto 12:00 Noon. The Centre remains open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

What monkey fled with a bag containing evidence in it: Read full story

The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.

In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).

The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.

The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.

In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.

The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
