Samajwadi Party fields 142 candidates for 2017 elections

Lucknow: Being seen as a move to strengthen its hold in lost territories in last assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party on Friday declared candidates for 142 constituencies out of 402 for 2017, sending the message loud and clear of its expectation and for partymen to start working . This move has given almost 12 months’ time to the candidates to prepare for the elections.

The party announced candidates for only those constituencies where it lost 2012 elections. It even chose those candidates who have come second or third in last elections.

“The Samajwadi Party will mark landslide victory and we are battle ready for 2017 polls. We are on a firm footing as it will show case its achievements and will go to the people with its report card,” SP general secretary and PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said here on Friday.

Former Minister Ambika Chaudhry, who was dropped from the ministry, will contest from Fefna in Ballia while in Lucknow east Shweta Singh will replace party face Juhi Singh, who had contested last election.

Of 142 party has given ticket to 26 Muslims, 18 Yadavs and 12 women. It also declared candidates for 21 reserve constituencies. The list is clear indication that party means business and does not hesitate from poaching as Peace Party MLA Annisurrahman would contest election on SP ticket from Kaanth (Moradabad).  Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Maulana Ahmad Bukhari’s Son-in law Umar Ali Khan is candidate from Behat while independent MLA Vijay Singh is SP candidate from Farukhabad.

Meanwhile, party has employed services of a US agency to review the work of sitting legisaltors. Depending on that report party decide whether or not to retain sitting candidates, he said.

List of the candidates as follows:

Umar Ali Khan (Behat), Sanjay Garg (Saharanpur city), Abdul Wahid (Saharanpur dehat), Vimla Rahi (Rampur Manoharan) and Rudrasen Chaudhry (Gangoh) in Saharanpur district,

Two candidates were announced for Shamli district that include Kiranpal Kashyap (Thana Bhawan) and Manish Kumar Chauhan (Shamli). Party’s candidates for Muzaffarnagar district would be Mukesh Kumar Chaudhry (Charthawal), Usha Kiran (Purkaji) and Shyam Lal Bachchi Saini (Khatauli).

Party announced five candidates for assembly constituencies in Bijnore. This includes Abrar Alam Ansari (Nazibabad), Shekh Suleman (Badhapur), Munna Lal Premi (Nahataur), Sherbaz Pathan (Chandpur) and Naimul Hasan (Nurpur). The lone candidate from Moradabad is Annisurrahman (Kaanth).

In Meerut Atul Pradhan will contest from Sardhana, Sardar Parvinder Singh (Meerut Cantt), Rafiq Ansari (Meerut city) and Haji Abdul Chaudhry (Meerut South). In Baghpat candidates announced are: Haji Tarabuddin (Chaprauli), Chaudhry Sahib Singh (Badaut) and Kuldeep Ujjwal (Baghpat).

Ishwar Maawi (Loni), Vishant Tyagi (Muradnagar), Rashid Malik (Sahibabad), Dr Sagar Sharma (Ghaziabad) and Ram Asrey Sharma (Modi Nagar) are candidates from Ghaziabad district.

Party announced Tejpal Singh from Hapur and two candidates from constituencies under GB Nagar district which include Ashok Kumar Chauhan (Noida) and Vikram Singh Bhati (Dadri). In Bulandshahr district Abdul Rab is candidate from Sikandrabad, Md Mustaquim Alvi (Bulandshahr), Himayat Ali (Anupshahar), and Sunita Chauhan (Khurja).

In Aligarh Prashant Kumar Balmiki (Khair), Subhash Babu Lodhi (Barauli) and Kanhaiya Lala Diwakar (Iglas) are SP candidates.  Ram Narain Kake (Hathras) and Yashpal Singh Chauhan (Sikandramau) are two candidates from Hathras district constituencies.

In Mathura district party did not announce candidates for Mathura and Baldeo constituencies while Lokmani Kant Jadaun will be candidate from Chaata, Jagdish Nohwaar (Maath) and Kishore Singh (Goverdhan).

In Agra district Dr Prem Singh Baghel is candidate from Etmaadpur, Chandrasen Taplu (Agra cantt), Hemlata DiwakarAgra Rural, Raj Kumar Chahar (Fatehpur Sikri)Vindo Kumar Sikarwaar(Khairagarh) and Dr Rajendra Singh (Fatehabad).

Mahraj Singh Dhansar is candidate from Tudla and Shamshad Ahmad from Firozabad. Virendra Singh Solanki (Amapur), Udai Veer Singh Shakya (Bilsi) and Avnish Yadav (Data Ganj).

In Barailly district Veerpal Singh Yadav will contest from Bithri Chainpur, Sher Ali Zafar Alvi (Bareilly city), Haji Islam Babu (Bareilly cantt), Mahipal Singh Yadav(Aonla) while Neeraj gangwar will be candidate from Bisalpur in Pilibhit district.

Sharadveer Singh (Jalalabad), Anwar Alo (Tilhar) and Tanvir Ahmad (Shahajahanpur) – all are candidates from assembly constituencies in Shahajahanpur district. In Khiri Anita Yadav will contest from Pallia, Yashpal Chaudhry (Dharhaura) and Dr RA Usmani (Mauhmaddi). In Sitapur candidates are Manoj Kumar Rajvansi (Hargao) and Anil Kumar Verma (Laharpur) while in Hardoi district Padamraag Singh Yadav will contest from Swaijpur and Subhash Pal from Bilgram.

Bhagwati Prasad is candidate from Mohan and Manisha Deepak (Unnao), both in Unnao district.

Shweta Singh is party candidate from Lucknow east. In Rae Bareli Mayankeshwar Singh (Tiloi), RP Yadav (Rae Bareli sadar) and Vijay Kumar Pasi will contest from Jagdishpur. Vijay Singh will SP candidate from Farukhabad while Mahendra Katiyar to contest from Sikandra.

What monkey fled with a bag containing evidence in it: Read full story

The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.

In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).

The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.

The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.

In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.

The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
