Bundelkhand’s Drought Relief material to Antyodaya families every month now

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced that the Samajwadi Drought relief package being distributed to Antyodaya families in Bundelkhand would now on be distributed every month.
The Chief Minister last month, during his visit to Mahoba and Chitrakoot, had launched the Samajwadi Drought Relief Scheme and now in view of the relief it has brought to the poor families, he has taken the decision to make it a monthly affair.
Providing this information, a state government spokesman today said that under the relief measure, 10 kg of wheat flour, 5 kg rice, 5 kg ’Chane ki Daal’, 25 kg potatoes, 5 litres of mustard oil, one kg desi Ghee and one kg of milk powder is provided. Material is to be provided to 2.30 lakh Antyodaya families in all seven districts of Bundelkhand region.
The spokesman also said that in the past, the state government had already taken a decision to pay for the food grains being provided at Rs 2 and Rs 3 under the Food Security Act, increasing work days under Mnrega from 100 days to 150 days and to 100 per cent coverage of all eligible families in Bundelkhand under the Samajwadi Pension Scheme.
The spokesman also pointed out that during his recent visit to Bundelkhand, the Chief Minister has issued instructions to make all possible arrangements to take care of the potable water crisis, 24×7 power to rural areas of all seven districts of the region and to ensure that there are no deaths due to hunger.
The Chief Minister has warned that the responsibility would be on the district magistrate of the concerning district in case such an incident occurs and stringent action would be initiated against the DM.

What monkey fled with a bag containing evidence in it: Read full story
The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.
In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).
The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.
The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.
Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.
In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.
The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
