Chief Minister reviews the Jan Sunvayi system

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that his government has implemented a ‘Jan Sunvayi’ mechanism to provide quality solution to the complaints received from the people, so that their grievances were effectively redressed. Warning officers against any callousness with regards to this, the Chief Minister also sought explanation from one such district magistrate and four district police chiefs.

These include district magistrate of Faizabad, district police chiefs of Deoria, Basti, Kasganj and Faizabad. The Chief Minister today chaired a review meeting at his official residence to assess the effective and prompt solution of complaints received under the Jan Sunvayi system. He also informed that very soon he will be reviewing the situation of the same at the state level.

Adding that the Samajwadi government implemented the Jan Sunvayi system for prompt, effective and transparent solution of the problems of the people and redressal of their complaints, Akhilesh stressed that by assimilating information technology into governance, government can live up to the expectations of the people.

Keeping this in mind, he added, the Samajwadi Government in its development agenda of 2015-16 and encouraged the promotion of the ‘Integrated Grievance Redressal System’ for effective management, solution and monitoring of people’s complaints. Through this, people’s problems can be tackled on one platform and their solution, follow up can be monitored.

During the meeting, officers informed that after implementation of the ‘Jan Sunvayi’ system on January 25, more than 2 lakh matters have been received and about 70 per cent of them have been resolved. The Chief Minister ordered speedy solution to the pending problems as well.

Problems received on this platform are ‘e-marked’ and sent to oncerning officer electronically, which has expedited the whole process. This has not only made things easy for both the people and officers, but has ensured that the whole process was hassle-free and transparent. Since its an online facility, people can lodge their complaints from the confines of their homes.

Through the portal, the location of one’s problems at the Chief Ministers office, district magistrate, police superintendent’s office, tehsil diwas, jan suvidha centres, Lokvani centres can be seen. People lodging a complaint are informed through SMS about every step from registration to solution.

To ensure transparency, a complainant can view the report with regards to his complaint on the portal. In case the problem is not resolved within the stipulated timeline, he/she can send online reminders to officers concerned. Chief Minister’s office maintains a sharp vigil on the progress of such complaints.

The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.

In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).

The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.

The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.

In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.

The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
